.
words are tools
I use everyday to
.
shape the formless
.
to attempt I must say
to nail down what
.
has no form to lead
to the priceless experience
.
words I use to describe
the tangible world
.
in its impermanence
.
while I strive for the
untold and unseen
.
entertaining myself
.
analyzing things
dissecting them
.
as I was – once – a child
alone in the garden
.
in the hope that
observing something
.
up close – already gone –
.
may fling me
into what is
.
.
.
.
I absolutely adore this:
“The tangible world
.in its impermanence”
Lovely piece.

Thank you for reading my post “a sparrow.” I have just read some of your posts here. I particularly like from this one- “words I use to describ the tangible world in its impermanence.” I like that word, impermanence.

You are welcome Alex, I like that we both got to the point of loving “impermanence” rather than being scared by it.

I like the word and the idea. Words make realities out of inclinations. But inclinations remain impermanent even though captured by words we assign.

Anna, I had another idea about your word impermanence. The only things that are real are things which never change. This desk at which I sit is real as I experience it in my senses. But some day, maybe 100 yrs from now, it will not exist, therefore it isn’t really real. But what is an unchanging physical thing? I think only the invisible, eternal is unchanging, and therefore, real. So when I think of this, I think of the impermanence of my desk.

A really lovely poem. I like the use of paradoxes, the tension they help build and the final beautiful line that signals release or the yearning for it.
