What a lovely piece. I especially like the lines about water’s “manifesting ways”. Thank you, btw, for the visit (and the like) to A Rhythm Runs Through It! It means a lot. I followed you so that I can see what you have in store! Looking forward to it…Jamy
Excellent choice: taking less picture. Even more being conscious. Go ahead john with that quote. Would love not to miss that post, please send link when done 🙂 thank you
Laguna Beach, small, used to be so hip (1972-1976 my brother lived about three blocks up the hill) nothing but trading posts, hippie shops maybe 5 art galleries, not 50, and the pick up volleyball was less competitive and more fun, and oh, your BLog brings it all back. Thanks a lot I mean A LOT. Anna
We think your matching of poem with particular image has aesthetic risks, but feel that yr choices are usually fruitful within your site. We like certain of your visual/verbal conjunctions very much, and this is among of them. And it’s a solid poem without any visual accompaniment.
Might we suggest a lengthier work, regarding Catholicism, perhaps as a climax to your series, to “pull your threads together” on the subject? You’re an impressionist, we understand, but the framework and implications of the Catholic faith might allow you to drape a number of impressions across that frame, sequentially, for the widescreen effect, the big impact.
Keep working, few mortals are as pleasing to the gods as are our poets.
Beautiful, Anna.

Hi, thank you! That is in Palm Springs, CA, off the main road… most of the pictures of the California Notebooks are from this area.

Lovely poem. Love always feels fluid to me. If it is tangible, it would certainly be a liquid blue.

I like how you say ‘taking less pictures’: that is a choice I consciously make. I shall say more about this in my next post. May I quote you?
