Love is Reverence

Standard

*

I have worn shoes
covered with trails
dust sticking loud

louder than my long
path of silence I
have asked to see

the way I could tread
barefoot as in a dream
where roads aren’t

hard where people
say without speaking
love is reverence

  1. I have reread this a few times Anna, loving the sound of it as well as the mood you create. And then I noticed how the idea of walking barefoot, coupled with the notion of reverence, put me in mind of the barefoot pilgrim en route to a holy shrine. Rather a rich bonus image I thought.

    • John, thank you, your comment makes me richer! I love reading about how words reach out to others and create images and understanding. Indeed, it has to do with purity, gentleness and sacred.
