Well I think the nature of love is sharing yourself with another human being and seeing and getting to know the other human being. When we love the expectations we put on another human being or the reflection of ourself in others we are not really seeing the other person but enacting a painful trap.
This nice bit of alienated wisdom touches on what I was writing in my last poem. Perhaps I could reduce it to this paraphrase – “Be not such a damn mountain!”

Wise guidance – difficult to avoid. Isn’t that the nature of love, or at very least infatuation?

Yes. I just wondered to myself if there is a distinction drawn in my poem between me (precipice) and my wife (rolling hills). hmm.
