This was the only English poem performed on my first poetic reading after the Covid-19 lockdown, last weekend, when asked to do a public reading during the finissage of an art show Called Opulenza Vegetale (Vegetable Opulence). ogni festa comandata è vendemmia
le persone stanno come grappoli
unite serrate vicine aggrappate
a volte tra loro solo ragnatele
pressate nessuno spazio
per muoversi
distinguersi
e si amano così
dicono
senza prospettiva
non conoscono distanza
vuoti

mi preferisco acino
solitario staccato rotolato via
pesante di dolcezza
piccolo il rostro

il primo era decisamente da grappolo
vive di social network frenetica
cicala gli arriva poca luce
resta acido
costruisce castelli
imperi di sabbia e parole

il secondo si è strappato a forza
dal grappolo esule sulla motocicletta
si sa che in moto sta comodo
solo il guidatore
per assicurarsi la sua
indipendenza rompe

For you, the English version of a short video of the conference held on May 21st 2016 in Italy on the “Focal Point” of my artistic walk. I was asked to explain to the public – in just 15 minutes – where, why and how Poetry and Photography merge in my personal search.
The conference, held in a beautiful location, the restored, historical, former King’s Waiting Room in the train station of Monza, was part of the Tenth Poetry Summit organized by Poesia Presente. I had a selection of my own photographic work showing in the background that you can view in this slide presentation.
Video starts with whispering so careful not to raise the volume too loud!

The following minimalist video was shown for the second appointment organized by Archivio Dedalus in Milan, Italy, on Saturday July 11th 2015, together with the documentary on Franco Loi realized by Pezzella and a few others productions by independent filmakers.
The project aims to contribute to Expocittà Milano with cultural additions such as Feed Your Soul.
May I remember that the focus of Expo 2015 is Feed the Planet. Videos had to be part of one of two categories: Herbarium or Bestiary. My evocative video belongs to Herbarium this time, taking you from a petal to an internal journey. At the previous appointment I presented a video poem on My Black Cat that you may have seen or can be seen here on my blog.

A year ago I taught some students of the Art Institute of Monza in Italy a course, side to side with Professor Telloli, during which they had to interpret a poetic text of mine and create a video. One of the students even wanted to put music to it!
Sadly, due to Italian school reforms the Art Institute will no longer exist and the school will have a different schedule that leaves less room to creativity.
To celebrate the Art Institute the way it was (that is the same school were I started my walk as a young artist), the teachers and the work students did, I wish to post here three of their video. One is in English and two in Italian. I encourage you to watch them all and perceive the feelings hidden behind the words of a different language.

Un anno fa insegnai un corso all’Istituto d’Arte di Monza al fianco del professor Telloli, docente di ruolo. Gli studenti dovevano interpretare un mio testo poetico e creare un video ricavato da foto loro. Uno di loro volle anche musicare una poesia!
Tristemente per via della riforma della scuola italiana questo è l’ultimo anno per l’ISA di Monza e come liceo avrà meno ore di creazione artistica.
Per celebrare l’Istituto d’Arte com’era (è la scuola dove io stessa ho cominciato il mio percorso d’artista), gli insegnanti e il lavoro fatto dagli studenti, pubblico qui tre dei loro video. Uno in inglese e due in italiano. Vi invito a visionarli tutti e tre indipendentemente dal linguaggio utilizzato.
