November 1st

Standard

*

November 1st early
morning past sunrise
I’m out in the middle
of the deserted road

.

I stop to savor the
moment under a sturdy
blue sky half moon
suspended late up there

.

my eyes running up to
the lengths of the tall
palm trees where only
a bird or two greet me

.

I’ve got a couple of hours
a couple of water bottles and
some mountains to follow here’s
peace before my Sunday starts

.

From the poetry collection California Notebooks 02 now on sale.

Intervista Live TV

Standard

A early Easter surprise (yes, I look like a chick that just cracked off the egg in this interview, LOL) a live interview for an Italian TV where I tell about my trips to California where I “gathered” poetic inspiration and where I wrote the two volumes of the California Notebooks

I Pick Up Words

Standard

*

I pick up words
as small daisies
on a spring field

careful to hold them
in small bunches
never as beautiful

as when first spotted
a memory of wonder
blushing as they close

around their meaning
covering the heart
shy of a truth near

enough for our dull spirit

to remember a note
or two

Rain From The California Notebooks

Standard

*

I’ve seen rain
stepping on the sea
incessantly tapping

not able to carve
ancient holes

as on rocks
because it

was welcomed
it was welcome
