New Landscapes

I left the valley
green and humid
where wind was but

a rare guest for
the coast to be blown
away by crosswinds

sunlight and waves running
around with my wet suit
catching waves long

trips to the unknown
marine depths now I find
myself in the desert away

from things experienced
before synced in with my
passion for the new

landscapes of the spirit

This poem is part of the newly published collection California Notebooks 02
